He was a follower of the Baha’i Faith. Coincidentially, ‘Baha’i’ appears and sounds similar to the Filipino word, ‘bahai”, which means house.

In 1984, Baha’i Temple opens in Samoa.

Glad you found the article about his Highness Susuga Maliatoa Tanumafili of interest. He was certainly a great man and one whom i have admired since meeting him some years ago while attending the opening of the beautiful Samoan Baha’i house of worship in 1984.Blessings, Michael

At Salisbury High School in Salisbury, CT they hung the American flag next to the flag of Samoa to honor their special student: The Crown Prince of Samoa with free tuition and beautiful TV and newspaper coverage.

The local Salisbury paper did a story about His Royal Highness which has a wonderful picture of “Tau” at age 18. Under the handsome prince picture is written WHAT A PRINCE “The Crowned Prince of Western Samoa…will one day be king.

Perhaps I have the above picture in our computer?

Another article about Prince Malietau Malietoa appeared in the Hartford Curant on June 3, 1988, front page.
The title is: A BOY WHO WOULD BE KING GETS A DIPLOMA

It is a wonderful and respectful depiction of Samoa and its Royal Dynasty.for the sole purpose of Samoan Soverignity.
