I didn’t know the word. Inchoate. Iooked it up. Great word. Thanks, Jason (author of  Inchoate Reflections on the Baha’i Institute Process) for bringing Baha’i Coherance to my attention. The essays to be found on the site are further evidence of the excellance of the personal scholarship the Baha’i Faith inspires. -gw

On the Ruhi Process Is Amazing: God has truly succeeded in making my life more unpredictable, and rewarding me for making sacrifices

May 10, 2009 Río Gallegos is the capital of the Patagonic province of Santa Cruz, Argentina. It has a population of about 79000 as per the 2001 census

  • The Ruhi process is amazing…It seems to remove the distinctions between people, namely, the us and them phenomenon, and makes “becoming a Bahá’í,” if even an issue at all, not an event but a life-long process. The Ruhi sequence of courses puts people from all walks of life into contact with the Word of God for this Day and accompanies them in service to humanity so that they are assisted in remaining on the path towards God for all of eternity.

On a more specific note, already 6 people in Rio Gallegos have finished book 1 within 2 weeks, with several others in the process, and we have started book 2. A group of college students choosing to study the Word of God every saturday night. I don’t feel like I can put the experience into words…I tried to above, but it doesn’t cut it. That’s why I have hesitated writing in the blog. I basically feel more of service than I have felt since I arrived in Argentina. Last night, I felt the joy of teaching to the fullest extent with the added joy of learning, when we began book 2; the understanding and spiritual progress gained from the study of book 1 was notable in the participants. I believe that no matter how many times we go through Ruhi we can get something out of it. So often we get caught up in the machinery of the Faith that we forget what it’s all about, and these courses and the participants that are new to the Faith are especially good at reminding us of those things. God has truly succeeded in making my life more and more unpredictable, and rewarding me for making sacrifices.

On Walter Palmore’s Incredible Paintings: Baha’i devotional experience in Tacoma is enriched week after week

    3674691460_bfe5601c7a

Words cannot express the powerful impact WalterPalmore’s paintings have on the sensibilities of the friends attending our Thursday Baha’idevotional meeting. A torrent of paintings flow from his hands. Walter says that he expects to be done with a painting in about 90 minutes. Then he is ready for a new creative experience. Another painting. Or learning to play the trumpet. -gw

On the Baha’i Persecutions in Iran: Relative of imprisioned Baha’i is interviewed on Everett radio

I am grateful to be able to pass on this link to a radio program aired locally. -gw

images5Last Saturday I recorded a Baha’i-sponsored radio program called “Community Life”  that airs monthly on KSER public radio out of Everett 90.7 FM. This time the topic was on the persecutions in Iran with a guest whose relative is one of the seven in Evin prison. The program runs about 25 minutes.

On a Divine Springtime, Well Nigh Unto Summer: In Washington and in the world

Picture above I took at Ohop Lake. Picture below, Bonita took and posted to her blog Flitzy Phoebie. The video, too, from last weekend’s canoe paddle, is proof that springtime —  nay rather almost summertime — has come for us here in Washington State, just as the Divine Springtime described by Baha”u’llah in his holy writings has come for all humanity. -gw

Red winged blackbirds called from the cattails along the shoreline, and the sounds of birds (video) were delightful. We approached a little dam, so turned around. We sure didn’t want to get caught (video) in any rapids or tumble over rocks.
