The Barber’s Diaries – the film gets made

The story told in The Barber’s Diaries, a cinema television documentary, should be of interest to any American today, given the upcoming inaugeral of an African-American president.  The story is of particular interest for Baha’is as the protagonist of the story is Charles Everett Ellis the father of Baha’i girls. One of them, Dr. Wilma Ellis, has served in many capacities for the Baha’i Faith, including as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States. Another, Dr.  Adrienne Ellis Reeves, after years of teaching speech and drama, started a career as a writer at age 72 with about a dozen books published to date.

The Barber’s Diaries is a a true story about Charles Everett Ellis. Today, telling his inspiring story is a collaborative television documentary and motion picture project involving the family of Charles Everett Ellis; Michael Wunsch, CEO of Outpost Worldwide; motion picture director and screenwriter Kevin Willmott; and producer, journalist and author David Henderson.

Adrienne Ellis Reeves was the anchor of my local community for over 25 years–she is my spiritual grandmother. We miss her terribly every day. I’m so happy for her and her sisters to see this project come to fruition.
