Here is a small list of songs I recommend from 1969-1975 about the harshness of city life; materialism, poverty, racism. The music is as relevant today as it was then.

Above is the Ronster’s list of gritty “city” songs. Baha’u'llah has a lot to say about the materialism/ poverty/ racism, we know; the Baha’i teachings address each issue fully. I’d like to believe that conditions have improved over the 35 or 40 years since the songs on the Ronster’s list were first sung , but we have so much farther to go.
