Waiting for the Interurban
Address:
North 34th St., Seattle, WA [Show Map]
Directions:
Fremont Bridge north side, North 34th St. and Fremont Avenue North.

Since 1979, just north of the Fremont Bridge, the Interurban’s six cast aluminum figures (including a dog) have stood waiting for a cast aluminum bus that never arrives.
Now subject to frequent — and encouraged — “art attacks,” the Interurban is forever festooned with layers of junk, clothing, and masquerade attire, celebrating whatever.

Per Jaimie’s comment regarding the above photo after initial posting, I will add the photo that he describes as the yin to the yang. -gw

Hey George, thanks for the notice….as you know, I’ve had a life-long struggle with the ‘democratic process’ and was not optimistic of Obama’s chances w/ the American electorate….the photo right before this is the yin to this yang ( or vice/versa….) ….the disunity that can come from such an ancient and outdated process of ‘leader’ selection might be overshadowed by the positive world wide outpouring of support he has found…..we all have alot of work/play to do, the excuses for laziness and apathy continue to be stripped away….
