On the World Art Collective: Dipicting and inspiring social change

Shahriar’s art is borne of something more personal.  As a Baha’i himself, with a mixed Iranian-Philipino heritage, his experiences growing up have been shaped by the ongoing situation.  Both his Grandfather and Aunt were executed in Iran during the 80s for their beliefs.

This latest project follows on from ‘World Art Collective, Body Armour’ in which more than 1500 people took part by taking pictures of themselves holding posters, speaking up against the situation of Iranian Baha’is.  Shahriar printed images and used them to create body armour as a symbol of collective unity.
