On Baha’i Blogs Found: New and new to me

Everyday there are new blogs by Baha’is to discover. -gw

The Bahá’i faith teaches us that tests are sent to build us spiritually. Well, I can’t help but believe in this even more after my experience at university. No matter what was thrown at me, I managed to find a way of dealing with, and overcoming, to achieve the end goal.

Wouldn’t it be great if we could start enjoying singing for the love of music, the beauty of our voices (however cultured or rough, pure or naive) and the sense of oneness we feel when singing together as a group. Not giving up our voices on the sacrificial alter for a few weeks, or a moment of fame.

Singing without the glamour, illusion and delusion. Our lives made happier through the way we show more kindness, more love, more honesty and generosity, using our singing talents to serve mankind.

This is a very personal issue for me, as it is for so many Baha’i's, Iranian or no…my Grandfather was arrested and murdered on December 27, 1981 by the Iranian Government; They told him either he recants (gives up his religion) or they will murder him; I never had the bounty of meeting him, my mother lost her father. He was a member of the National governing body of the Baha’i Faith in Iran (the National Spiritual Assembly). Here is a photo of my grandparents, my grandfather is the tall gentleman in the tie, my grandmother in the white dress:
