On Consultation, Not Just a Baha’i Concept: And other discoveries on A Baha’i Perspective

Listening on my way in to work this morning to a Susan Maneck interview by Warren Odess-Gillett on A Baha’i Perspective, I learned that the principles of consultation can be found in certain Koranic verses, so the roots of the concept we so identify with the Baha’i Dispensation go down into the soil of Islam, too.

On a musical note, at the conclusion of the interview there were some great tunes played, one by Stevie Wonder I’d never heard before called “Positivity” and “Susanna” by Cluster 19 WA’s own Russ Salton.

When people ask me as an African American
What do I see for tomorrow in the human plan?
Is it possible for all the people of the world to co-exist?
I say unity is only as big as our vision
And if its narrow, try to expand beyond the horizon
But true leaders must guide us through the ills of society
That stands in our way
So if the road is to harmony, be with the call
But if its about discord, don’t take the ride at all
‘Cause the world vision I see is the one-we for everybody
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

Please also note that Baha’i blogger Phillipe Copeland is the most recent interviewee on A Baha’i Perspective. Check it out.
