In Iran, the constitution does not recognize the Bahai faith, and universities have not been admitting students who identify themselves as Baha’is. But this largest religious minority in the country has found a creative way to get educated.

In the past four years, Egyptian Baha’is were denied the right to register themselves under their religion in official identification documents. As a result, Baha’is couldn’t obtain birth certificates or ID cards. But a court ruling on January 29, 2008 gave them back their citizenship rights. One Egyptian immigrant in the U.S. shares a glimpse of his life as a Bahai in Egypt.
