On Blog Posts from Haifa: The whole convention was singing

The next best thing to being there this week is a blog post from Haifa. -gw

Members of 166 National Spiritual Assemblies submitted ballots, with 153 countries represented in person at the convention. (BWNS)

…a delegate from Benin, who had been speaking when the sirens sounded, ended his contribution with a song that the Baha’is in his cluster had written as a way of teaching basic facts about the Faith. In a moment the whole Convention was singing.

I will never forget the moment right before the election, the head teller asking ‘Would anyone like to change their vote? Now is the time.’ A large group of hands went into the air. The ushers handed out new ballot forms for them to fill in their vote. I can still remember the sound of rustling paper and pen as they cast their new vote. What an incredible process. So unique, so utterly different to any other election the world so typically runs by. One governed by primarily by spiritual awareness and consciousness.

…learning about the ongoing developments in Haifa, Israel, where the greatest global event of the year has been taking place.

One of my favorite moments was when over 1500 people from around the world circled around the Shrine of Baha’u’llah on the 9th Day of Ridvan. (pictures here). It gave me a better understanding of how global our Faith truly is…the sky was blue and perfect.

Thank you for this updating, my friend.

It enabled me to imagine myself there: Barney’s and Chantelle’s texts were simply outstanding in their descriptions!

And, wow! I found out Shidan has a blog…

    Thanx George.
